Never Forget...

All getting ready for the concert next day… But first the girls and I were on our way to the Airport. Chance of a lifetime! Only one opportunity! Nothing like this will ever happen again! It doesn’t matter if we lied to our parents, it doesn’t matter if we skipped school, it doesn’t matter if people say that we’re nutters, it doesn’t matter at all what people think! As far as I’m concerned, nothing else matters at this very moment! What’s important was we were able to meet the men of our dreams! The men, the boys, the males of every teenage girls dreams… Their movements, their bodies, their vocals, their fine-looking features…Oooh! Who wouldn’t wanna be near them and just screamed at the top of their lungs and deafened each and everyone of them.

“Girls! I think we need to make another banner! Look at those other girl’s banners! Damn, we’ve got to make this obvious in order for the guys to notice us!”

So, there we were, on our hands and knees, making the on the spot banner with markers, pens… anything that we can find! People looking at us in disbelief, judging us, thinking how mad these girls were… Some shook their head in disbelief some just smile in amusement… We were fanatical! We need them (the Group) to notice us! 3 of us vigorously using our creativity and talent to just create the most impressive banner ever! Hmmmnnn… Once we were done, we were full of glee! Now we have 2 banners – one on-the-spot banner which was massive and the other creative work banner we did it in class on every break... Classmates thought that we were very sad… Indeed we were but who cares! We love this group anyway! We will die for them (well not really actually, won’t go that far). We had this 1 or was it 2 meter lime green cloth where we put the band name in the middle and we sow, paste pictures of the guys as many as it could fit! It was great and till now, we still had that banner with us… well, actually, I kept it with me for safe-keeping… Wait till my kids get a hold of this!!!

Every girls in the country (exaggerating!) were waiting patiently for the Band to come out from the Belt… but some weren’t sure if the Group were coming out from this Belt or the other Belt… So, we decided to split. That time we don’t have pagers or mobile phones so you can imagine girls running back and forth giving information to friends/strangers…

So, there we all were, waiting patiently, singing their hits together loud and proud but we got to bring it to a halt cause security told us to shut up. But that only lasted for about a minute and we carry on singing in unison, broken…

A group of girls started shouting at everyone when they saw a figure and yes it was them!!! And we screamed like we never screamed before – ROBBIEEEEEE!!!! GARRRRRRYYYYYY!!! MAAAARRRRKKKK! JAAAASSSSSOOOONN!!! HOWAAAAARRRDDDD!!!! It was mad! It was Chaotic! It was utterly insane! The rush! Oh, what a rush! The screams, the panic attack, the tremors!!!! Oh this is all worth it!!!

As they walked towards us, we got excited! They pushed and pushed and screamed and just had no care in the world! Who cares if you’re asthmetic, who cares if you fell on your feet, I’m gonna get to them and touch them and make them sign my body – no, actually, just my autograph book… But coz there were just too many pushing and shoving, we or I didn’t get that chance! Oh but we saw them alright and how dreamy they were!!! We all go, “TAKE THAT! TAKE THAT! TAKE THAT!!!”

And guess what we frenzied teenage girls did after that? We chased them to the car park and saw a car sped of and we ran after it! WE screamed… a girl fell… oh! Should I just take no notice of her and pursue my mission or should I help her out? Girls were running passed her – even her friends didn’t realised that she fell… Oh what the heck! “You alright?” and to this she reply, “Heck yah!” And she ran off towards where everyone was heading – to the moving car!!!!

Rumours had it that they were staying at the Mandarin or the Marriot but we weren’t sure… We decided to go home coz we were already in so much trouble and in few days time, it will be their concert, another big day, so we will have energize ourselves tonight for the big one!!! Tomorrow we needed to be at the Caldecott Hill for their interview… Wait outside the Radio Station? Yes! That’s what we’ll do! Right after school… Don’t forget to pack extra clothes… Must change before heading to the Station… We got to be there as early as we could… WE couldn’t stop talking about what happened! We were so glad that we did what we did! It was all well worth it – damn sure!!!! And the Concert? It was exhilarating and superb! It was the most magnificent well worth $20(?… Can’t really remember how much I paid for the ticket) spent! Seeing them live and dancing and singing to their hits… it’s all well worth it! If I was given another chance to do it again, I would definitely grab that chance just for the fun and heck of it!

And guess what? TAKE THAT has just released their Hits Collection Album after all these years and apparently, they will have a concert next year! A reunion… now that I must go and see only this time will compose myself and won’t be running and carrying a banner… Heck! I’m an adult now, what do you take me for?

Laser Stick – check, banner – check, CD for them to sign – check, Lighter (for all the sappy songs) – check, TAKE THAT Scarf – check… what else missing?????
