And I tell you...

Sitting here, sipping my cup of Limpsip at a snail's pace to avoid my tongue being scorched I Sniff, sniff, cough, cough… ooohhh my head… but no, I’m not in bed but just wished that I am though. Wished I had picked up the phone when I was at home, lying down on my bed, contemplating as to whether I should go to work or not and just ring the boss up and say,

“Look, I’m sick here and I demand a sick leave just for today and no, I’m not playing sick, considering that it’s Friday and people might be doing just that.”

So here I am at work but not doing my work, instead writing for my blog and not forgetting chat to my dear friends. Well, who has the energy to work when you’re feeling rough as sandpaper? Been feeling like this for almost a week or two – well, let’s just say that since I came back from Singapore I’ve been feeling ill and I refuse to go to the doctor. Just your everyday normal flu bug/hayfever… But I do hope I get better today for tomorrow I gotta go to London… I don’t have to but I’ve been putting this trip off for a year and plus this gives me the chance to meet up with Kak Teh and fellow Singaporean, Milah.

So anyway, I am absolutely looking forward to this long trip to London tomorrow. When I said a long day trip, I mean it! Will take the bus from Leeds @ 5.50am where I’ll arrive at the Victoria bus station @ 10.30am. Meeting me will be my dear Milah and so after months of talking over the phone, this will be our first meeting… Off we will go to Covent Garden for the Malaysian Festival; meeting up with Kak Teh and other rantauan members… Maybe we’ll go for makan and get to know the rest of the Malays living in the UK. Will be leaving from there London @ 6.35pm and arriving home @ about 11.30pm. Am glad that it’s a Saturday though for the next day I could just stay home…

Ooops… Almost forgot - well, Not entirely though… We still got to go to Manchester City Centre to cheer on Adam on his Marathon with Sue and Jaevyn. Let’s hope that it will be a lovely day. Maybe while waiting for Adam to complete his run, we’ll all go shopping and a meal after that… Gonna be a busy weekend for sure but definitely looking forward to it…

And for the next weekend, we’ve got a party to go to – it’s our friend 21st birthday party, so we’ve got to attend… Other than that, nothing planned! Maybe go Blackpool for a day? Or maybe Alton Towers if the weather permits!!! It’ll be along weekend next week – Spring Bank Holiday so, Monday will be an off day for us!!!! Woo Hoo!

As we touched Down - Brief Summary

Two weeks in Singapore were just never enough. Too short of a period of time but nevertheless, I was glad that I was back home – WE, should I say. Not much as he but I was definetely looking forward meeting people I loved and missed.

So, as the plane touched down in Changi Airport, we headed towards the belt where our luggage will be. As per normal, it took us a bit of waiting before our luggage arrived and through my lazy eyes I scanned outside hoping to see familiar faces… Hmmm… no one that I recognised. I hoped that I gave them the right date and time as this happened before where I gave my family the wrong date and time which was a day too early.

We got our luggages and headed out and excitedly scanning around looking for familiar faces…

Heek, I saw them, I saw them but they didn’t see me… Their backs were facing me and so I approached them slowly, gently and full of anticipation.

“Assalamualaikum, boleh tupang tanya?” I asked them and when they turned around, how shocked & thrilled they were to see James & I! Hugs, kisses, more hugs and more salam and more hugs! How I’ve missed those faces! The kids, well, they were a bit apprehensive, considering that we haven’t met for quite some time, they weren’t sure what to make out of their Auntie and Uncle. Oh how I missed them!

We chatted in keenness while pushing the luggage trolley and hoping to find SassyLady & PrinceRomp. Now, this will be the first time I’ll be meeting them so I’ve no clue as to how they looked like. After turning my head left to right, PrinceRomp spotted me and then SassyLady and then…

It was a very brief meeting but I’m glad that we were able to get acquainted and at least when reading their blogs, I can put faces to it… Thanks guys for taking the time to meet us at the Airport! We appreciate it very much and hope that we’ll be able to do it again - I mean meet again!!!

So, after those brief meetings, we were off to sis place to unload and unwind! After that long flight, boy do we need to shower and rest. Everything was a blur that day and so, the holiday begins…

I won’t go into details about our trip as I will let the pictures do the talking but frankly I wished that I could stayed longer and spend more quality time with the family but it is what it is right? So, till next time my wonderful, beloved family and friends! May our next meeting be an extensive one that you would get so sick of me and just want me to leave! Hee Hee! I will smother you till you say nooooo!!!! Huh?

Missing you, missing you, missing you!!!!!

First, its The Flight Journey

Looked out the window and beautiful clouds forming it’s own shapes and sizes - pure bliss.

“What would you like to drink miss?” I was startled by the voice…

“Orange juice please, thank you.” I looked over and saw James sound asleep so I told the steward that he’s fine with drinks at the moment. Just can’t bear to wake him up…

Seats weren’t as comfortable as we hoped for as we felt that we’ve all been crammed together like sardines in a tin. It was a very uncomfortable trip back home from the UK to Singapore and I could see the frustration on James face when he woke up.

I must say that Flying with KLM was the worse experience ever and to whoever wants to fly back to either Singapore or Malaysia with KLM economy class, I suggest you change your mind and choose other airlines.

It was the most uncomfortable return trip with KLM ever! Seats were just too close and you just don’t have enough leg room and I pity those who have long pair of legs coz I bet they have to suffer the most. The bus seats in Singapore were more comfortable than the KLM flight seats. Not to mention that the food were just pure awful and don’t get me started with the Air Hostess… All you see from them were the sour prunes on their faces – where’s the smile? Long gone I presume!

So, all in all, flight trip to and fro was just pure atrocious and never again will we fly with KLM even if they’re cheaper than other airlines… And did I mention too that you don’t get your own telly screen at the back of your chair? Now that’s disappointing as to watch a movie in KLM you have to lift your head up to the angle of the telly to watch it and in the end you’ll get a stiff neck… I mean, Emirates or Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines, you have your own telly and control and you have your own choice of watching movies at your own pace, or just listening to music or better still play those games when everyone were fast asleep… Long flight like this, you need those!

Okay, so now you know the frustration we had with KLM and that’s why we don’t recommend you flying with them unless you really don’t have a choice and you just don’t mind all those mentioned…

Just let me remind you that with long hours flight like that (12 hours +-) and the money that you pay for a return flight, you expect something decent but unless you’re travelling business class, then, I say no more!
