A Bit Late

I'm 5 days late but here it goes:

Wishing all My Friends and Family a Happy New Year and may this year Brings you More Joy and Happiness and Prosperity...
Alhamdulillah, 2006 has been a good year for us... Not as many hiccups as there were in 2005... We managed to regain ourselves and get back on track. We found out that we were pregnant, we've got our dream house that we can agree on and somehow could afford (with the help of some trusted relative ;D) and he has a job that someday will be his.... so things were and will be going great, InsyAllah... We've had a year of downfall in 2004/2005 so let's hope that this year will be a good one for us and even if it's not, then we'll just have to find a way to deal with it positively and make sure that we get back on our feet and start all over again...
Like many, the beginning of the new year was a quiet one though we couldn't help ourselves but spend the vouchers that we received over Christmas from relatives... HMV, Next, W H Smith... We spend it all in one day without forking out any cash - just the vouchers! Hee hee! That's the good thing about Christmas though - you get presents and especially if its something that you wanted like my Tassimo Coffee, Cappuccinno, Latte, Hot Chocolate and Tea maker. The parents-in-law decided to buy me the Tassimo Machine since that's what I asked for and its just perfect for the new house! New gadget for me to play with - hee hee! James on the other hand bought me Camer - Its Kodak and I will let you know what model it is when I get home... Its super cool and not forgetting also it comes with the photo printer which is great coz I can print out the pictures straight away and it looks great!
I'm gonna snap happy with my Camera and definetely I've got to take some pictures of my colleagues and boss before I go for my maternity leave which is on the 26.01.07. Two and half more weeks to go and I am ecstatic! I keep rubbing it in about my 6 months maternity leave and James hating me for it... I'm staying home and he's working but mind you I'm not staying home for a holiday, I'm staying home to take care of the little one - so can you call that a holiday? I don't think so - sleepless nights, constant crying (maybe), cleaning the house while taking care of the baby... etc, etc... Well, if other mothers can do it, then so can I!!!
Our new house is still incomplete - the interior decoration I mean... We've got the dining tables, sofas, tvs, dresser, guest bed (which we're sleeping in at the moment) - all the big & main furniture is already in the new house, it's just those small, small details that need to fill up the room to make it a complete home... I am yet to find the energy and the motivation to get my arse up and tidy up and put things away... Mind you, we still need to get a bookcase for all the books, some plants, some small corner table to put the phone and keys and other things... Sooo many to think about but soo little time, soo little energy...
Baby's nursery room is still not up and ready. We've already ordered our Baby Crib/Cot and push chair from MotherCare and they will send it to us just 2 weeks before my due date, need to get a wardrobe for the baby's room, changing table and other accessories... HELP!!!! I need to know what to get for the baby!!! I've got him a nice newborn coat, some long sleeve newborn clothes for him, Newborn Diapers, all the bath necessities, yet to get his bath tub, socks, towels etc, etc, etc... This weekend, MIL is taking us to buy curtains so which means this will be a perfect time for us to buy those baby things that we require... Need to make a full long list!

Ooh it's so exciting when the date is so, so close now. I know that this being your first little one, you wish you can get the baby everything out there. Just one advice from an old hand, most of the things they sell are things you don't really need. So, be wise when shopping for baby stuff ok. WHen it comes to clothes, don't buy too much because the baby would outgrow them all in no time and maybe even those that you have not even put on the baby.

Praying for your smooth delivery Mas.
